Digital Humanities at HU Berlin
It is common ground that the Digital Humanities is difficult to define. Sometimes it is described as a community, sometimes as a group of techniques and methods, sometimes as an independent subject. In the context of the network, we opt for a definition that is as broad and inclusive as possible that covers all engagement with the digital in the humanities: From the provision of digital research data to the development and application of new digital methods to the analysis of social and cultural changes due to the digital.
After all, the provision of digital data and the use of digital methods in the humanities is always inseparably linked to the simultaneous technological and the accompanying social and cultural changes in society. In this respect, this joint approach may contribute to a particularly responsible and profitable approach to the digital.
